Ibrahim al-Jarwan, a member of the Arab Union for Space and Astronomy Sciences, predicted that the heat will break with the appearance of the star Suhail, a brilliant star that appears in the sky of the UAE on August 24, which can be seen from different parts of the country.

Al-Jarwan said the star Suhail appeared in the southeast of the country about half an hour before the sunrise and coincided with his arrival in the middle of the Arabian Peninsula, with the start of the evacuation of the intensity of the heat and the end of the heat in the Arabian Peninsula.

"Within three weeks of its appearance, the weather features are characterized by high temperatures and humidity, known as Suhail (Skulls), a hot and humid climate that exhausts people, and continues until mid-September, with low temperatures in stagnant water, reservoirs and sea water , The sand dunes and the deserts of the desert in the morning, followed by three weeks in which the weather is noticeably improved, especially at dawn, starting in mid-September, and the gradual improvement and moderation of the weather at night until mid-October. .

Al-Jarwan explained: «The first weeks of Suhail is called the season (zero) or what is known as zero. It extends towards mid-October, where the season enters, which represents the best beneficial rainy times, during which many kinds of wild plants grow useful to the pastor. "

The star Suhail appears to be associated with the time of the sunrise in the UAE from August 12, at that time, in the southern parts of the country. It can be seen south of the Liwa region from August 18, while August 24 will be seen across the UAE and in the central Arabian Peninsula, up to three degrees above the southern horizon before the sun rises by about 20 minutes.

He pointed out that the emergence of the star «Suhail» is a sign of time when the Arabs at the time of refraction of the intensity of the heat, and the beginning of the mildness of the atmosphere gradually, especially during the night. The humidity increases and the fog is formed in the morning and activates the arrival of high humidity air masses.

Jarwan explained that the star Suhail known to Arabs since ancient times, and has several names, they call «Bashir Al Yamani», «star of Yemen», and «Suhail Yamani». They are proud of its appearance, due to the changing weather conditions. India's seasonal low begins to decline southwards, and a strong wind is blowing, called "Hbeib Suhail", which is working to calm the atmosphere.

Since ancient times, the people of the Arabian Peninsula have been interested in reading the stars, looking at them and knowing their homes because they are connected to their daily lives. They know how to enter the seasons of the year, the time of rain and the time of cold and heat. Through calculating stars, villagers and peasants know when to plow their land, and when they sow it in preparation for rain. The people of righteousness know the seasons of grazing and travel. Sea people know the seasons of sea fishing and travel. They know that this link is my time, and the star itself has no relation to changing the atmosphere or seasons in the earth, where the land is far from overwhelming dimensions. Suhail is estimated to be about 310 light-years from Earth.

He continued Jarwan: «With the advent (Suhail) begins a special calendar for the people of the Gulf, which is the calendar Aldror. The Arabs said (if Suhail came cold night and the light of the torrent and the dialogue woe), because it separates from his mother ».

Suhail Star

The star of Suhail disappears from sight for a period of the year, like most of the stars of the sky, and then reappears again, beginning on the morning of August 24 of each year, then taking his appearance progress day after day until he rises in the middle of the night at the end of December.

It appears after sunset on the southwestern horizon by the end of March, and then lurks until it gets fresh again before the sunrise on August 24 in the UAE and the countries in its display.

The star Suhail was mentioned in the Arabian legends, and he is said to have two sisters, the Yemeni shepherd, who succeeded in catching her brother Suhail the fugitive south of Yemen, after crossing the river of the Milky Way. Al-Ghamaisa, where she could not catch up with her sister, remained in the Sham (and from which the name came).

Myths say that she was overcome with sadness and sadness and cried until her eyes were dimmed.
