IL-76 airplanes started to extinguish forest fires in Siberia

It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Ministry of Defense of Russia.

The ministry noted that on Saturday, August 3, at least 20 IL-76 sorties will be conducted; in total, they will discharge 840 tons of water.

Ten more Mi-8 helicopters will conduct 110 discharges (550 tons of water) to extinguish fires in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Irkutsk Region.

On the eve, the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported that the daily increase in the area of ​​forest fires in Siberia and the Far East has decreased fivefold.
