Forest fire extinguished at the site of the fall of the Tunguska meteorite
Rescuers put out a forest fire in the Tungussky reserve in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, in a place where the eponymous meteorite was discovered more than 100 years ago.
“By the forces of the FBU Avialesookhrana aviation fire-fighting unit, the remote forest fire in the protected forest massif formed at the site of the fall of the Tungussky meteorite on the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was manually eliminated,” the Avialesokhran website reported.
It is noted that a forest fire in an impassable area of the reserve arose from a dry thunderstorm.
Earlier, FBI Avialesoukhrana developed a preliminary forecast of fire danger in the forests of Russia for August 2019.
