Britain's Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) set the fastest time of the 3rd free practice session of the Hungarian Grand Prix, the 12th round of the Formula 1 World Championship, on Saturday at the Hungaroring (4,381 km) in Budapest.

The top of the table is very tight with Hamilton in 1 min 16 sec 084/1000 (the best time of the tests after two rainy sessions on Friday), the Dutchman Max Verstappen (Red Bull) at 13/1000 and the German Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari ) to 82/1000.

Finland's Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) is fourth at 271/1000, Monaco's Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) 5th at 308/1000 and France's Pierre Gasly (Red Bull) 6th at 600/1000.

The Briton Lando Norris (McLaren) stands out in the middle of the table, 7th at 690/1000, ahead of Finland's Kimi Räikkönen (Alfa Romeo Racing), 8th at 1: 132/1000, Spain's Carlos Sainz Jr (McLaren), 9th at 1 sec 133/1000, and Denmark's Kevin Magnussen (Haas), 10th at 1 sec 146/1000.

The other Frenchman Romain Grosjean (Haas) is 11th at 1 sec 209/1000.

Also note the absence of both Renault in the top 10.

The session only lasted 50 minutes instead of an hour, the time to make the track practicable after an oil leak during the Formula 2 race held just before.

Qualifications are scheduled from 15:00 to 16:00 (13:00 to 14:00) in stormy weather.
