The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, represented by the infrastructure and municipal assets sector during the second quarter of this year, and within the annual plan for the maintenance of infrastructure in the city of Abu Dhabi and its environs, has cost more than AED 41 million.

The Municipality stressed that these projects are part of a series of projects and plans aimed at upgrading the modern infrastructure components that are capable of keeping abreast of Abu Dhabi's growth, development and prosperity, in a manner that ensures the provision of quality services and quality of life, as well as supporting economic and urban growth in Abu Dhabi and its environs.

The Municipality added that the development of the capacity, efficiency and readiness of public utilities and infrastructure is a top priority in implementing the vision of the Abu Dhabi Government. This vision is supported and nurtured, and a vision that is forward-looking and capable of continuous development to the level that is commensurate with the size of aspirations, visions and goals.

The municipality indicated that the works included maintenance of internal roads at a cost of (13,456,760,64) dirhams, maintenance of highways at a cost of 13,979,238, maintenance of rainwater drainage networks at a cost of AED 5,403,131,28 and maintenance of lighting poles networks at a cost of AED 8,278,411.20.

The maintenance work is primarily aimed at maintaining the infrastructure and public safety assets of road users and maintaining the overall appearance. The highest standards of sustainability in the implementation of projects supporting the infrastructure and public service facilities were also considered.
