A 22-year-old man was arrested in a scam for the largest online retailer totaling about $ 370,000 by sending packages filled with dirt.

James Gilbert Quarteng, from Palma de Mallorca, Spain, claims that he tricked Amazon by filling the boxes of goods he bought through the Internet with dirt after emptying their contents and recording the exact weight of the product. Then returns them to Amazon claiming that it is not what he wants, then sells the original goods refunded his money accompanied by an apology, according to the newspaper "The Espanyol."

It seems that Amazon does not check the material returned, but only checks the weight of the parcel, and the packages expire in their warehouses. The fraud was discovered only through random search, where one of them opened a box and found it was filled with dirt.

Amazon's return policy states that items shipped from the website - including the Amazon warehouse - can be returned within 30 days of receipt. Refunds are processed within two business days, and customers can expect their money to appear in their accounts within three to five business days.
