The Palestinian camps in Lebanon witnessed marches in protest against the procedures of the Lebanese Ministry of Labor, and to demand the exclusion of the Palestinian worker from the Ministry's campaign to organize employment in the country.

Maj. Gen. Munir al-Maqdah, deputy commander of the Palestinian National Security in Lebanon and a Fatah leader, said that Hassan alaa, a member of the movement, was seriously injured by a masked gunman who opened fire at a march in Ain el-Hilweh camp.

Al-Maqdah explained that the Palestinian High Security Committee is meeting to discuss the developments, at a time when its elements are being pursued by the perpetrator within the camp.

The protests took place in Ain el-Hilweh, Rashidiya and Nahr al-Bared camps, while Lebanese media reported clashes in Ein El Helwa between Fatah and armed groups.

Al-Jazeera correspondent said that the state of tension has been going on for three weeks, pointing out that the government and parliament leaders confirmed that the measures will be amended and some amendments to labor laws for Palestinian refugees.

These events follow the decision of the Ministry of Labor to implement a plan requiring all non-Lebanese workers to obtain a work permit.
