US Congressman Ilhan Omar ridiculed US President Donald Trump and his supporters by publishing pictures of her and US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in the West African state of Ghana. "They said they brought her back, but Pelosi did not just come back, "He said.

The Guardian newspaper said Elhan's photographs came from a trip by a congressional delegation to the African nation this week to mark the 400th anniversary of the American slave trade. The two women were joined by civil rights icon and Georgia State Congressman John Lewis and other members of the Black Caucus.

Trump Racism
Elhan's comment came after Trump launched racist statements against her and three other women of colored origins.

"All of them have to go back to help repair the place they came from, places that are all completely ruined, shaken by crime and corruption," Trump told his supporters at a recent North Carolina festival. He said that despite the fact that the four female deputies were American citizens, Trump supporters were chanting "prepare her for her country."

Pelosi, who previously found herself at odds with these four members on issues such as Trump's dismissal, strongly condemned the president's behavior, and the House of Representatives quickly approved a resolution condemning Trump's words as racist.

An experience of humility
"Every member of this institution, whether Democrat or Republican, should join us in condemning the racist propaganda of the president," Pelosi said in the House Chamber after the conviction.

In a speech to the Ghanaian parliament on Wednesday, Pelosi said the delegation's visit to the fortress where slaves were held four centuries ago was "transformational and humorous."

The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo, has declared 2019 a "year of return", where celebrations are held to encourage people of African descent around the world to travel to Africa, on a journey called "the right home".

Elhan published several footage of the trip and thanked the Ghanaian president for hosting the delegation and the commitment to "work together for global security and build a more sustainable world to combat the climate crisis."
