Apple said on Friday it had suspended its global program by analyzing recordings from users interacting with the Siri voice helper after some privacy concerns were raised about the program.

The decision comes in the light of a Guardian report last week that said company employees around the world who were reviewing the recordings regularly heard confidential information and private conversations.

"While we are conducting a comprehensive review, we are commenting on Siri's global assessment," a company spokeswoman said in a statement, adding that in updating the next program, users would be able to unsubscribe from the program.

Siri (Apple Voice Assistant) allows you to work on your iPhone without hands-on, can send messages, make calls and open multiple applications using voice commands alone.

In an effort to test quality and improve voice assistant responses, employees evaluated my responses to user queries, the paper said, adding that they also looked into whether the response had been misinterpreted without a deliberate inquiry from the user.
