This is stated in a statement published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“We reliably know that this idea, which is provocative in nature, was actively promoted by countries hostile to the legitimate authorities of the SAR and our efforts to eradicate the terrorist threat in this country and ensure its territorial integrity and sovereignty,” the ministry said.
The Foreign Ministry added that they have repeatedly stressed: the Syrian military, with the support of the Air and Space Forces of Russia, are undertaking purely retaliatory and limited actions to neutralize the militants and destroy the objects of terrorists.
The ministry also noted that attempts to cast a shadow on these efforts, to discredit the Syrian authorities "will then be used to create new obstacles to a political settlement."
