DAMASCUS, (SANA) - Damascus has agreed to a truce in the northwestern Syrian region of Idlib, according to the official Syrian news agency SANA, in line with a new round of negotiations in Astana.

The official Syrian news agency quoted a military source as saying that "the cease-fire in the area of ​​reducing the escalation in Idlib has been approved as of this night, provided that the Sochi Agreement, which provides for the retreat of terrorists within 20 kilometers deep from the border line, Heavy and medium ".

For its part, Russia welcomed the Damascus Declaration to agree to the cease-fire in Idlib, while Russia and Turkey reached the same agreement in September, but the implementation was not completed.
