“Bastrykin, in order to provide practical assistance in identifying the causes and conditions that contributed to the emergence and large-scale spread of fire, sent officers of the central office of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation to fire-hazardous regions,” the statement says.

It clarifies that these groups included not only investigators, but also various experts of the department.

At the same time, the report states that the head of the Russian Investigative Committee instructed the heads of regional investigative bodies to take measures to establish all the circumstances that caused the spread of fire in the forests.

Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev instructed the Prosecutor General's Office, the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to identify cases of deliberate arson of the forest to conceal illegal logging. Later, the Emergencies Ministry called the cause of the spread of fires in Siberia.
