Six days after the end of the Tour de France, Julian Alaphilippe will race Saturday the Clasica San Sebastian, which he won the last edition, confirmed Wednesday his training Deceuninck.

The world number one will team up with the Belgian "neo-pro" Remco Evenepoel, world junior champion last year and author of a promising first year in the professional peloton.

Evenepoel (19), who will be competing in WorldTour for the first time, won the Tour de Belgique at the beginning of June and took a stage off the Adriatica Ionica last Saturday after a solo breakaway.

The Spaniard Enric Mas, second of the Vuelta 2018, is also planned at the start of the 226 kilometers.

"We have a strong and motivated team, able to play several cards," said Deceuninck team sports director Wilfried Peeters.

Last year, Alaphilippe beat Dutchman Bauke Mollema in a two-man sprint.

Among the headliners announced in Spain's main one-day event are world champion Alejandro Valverde of Spain and recent Tour winner Egan Bernal of Colombia. As well as the Belgian Greg Van Avermaet and the Briton Simon Yates.
