Chloé Paquet of France (156th overall) was beaten 6-2, 6-2 by Poland's Katarzyna Kawa in the quarter-finals of the Jurmala clay court tournament on Friday.
Paquet was playing in the second quarter-final of his career, at age 25. But if she had won first, last May in Strasbourg, she was this time beaten by a player yet within reach, 194th world 26 years, the outcome of qualifications.
