The American leader said the "collapse" of the WTO due to the fact that "the richest economies" are considered to be developing, receive help and do not follow the rules of the organization.

"Today, I instructed the US trade representative to take action in order to stop the deception (of these - RT ) of the countries of the system (WTO. - RT ) at the expense of the United States," Trump wrote in his Twitter.

As noted in the White House, the status of developing countries, given to rich economies, is detrimental to those states that really need support.

On Trump's instructions, the US Trade Representative will seek to ensure that their status in the WTO will change.

In particular, we are talking about the possible deprivation of such status of Brunei, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Macao, Qatar, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.

The White House also announced the possibility of revising this status for Mexico, South Korea and Turkey, which are members of the G20 and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

In February, Washington accused Russia of departing from the principles of openness in the WTO markets and announced its intention to fight this.

Political analyst Alexander Asafov, in an interview with the “PolitExpert” edition, expressed the opinion that the United States “by right of the strong” considers international agreements optional.
