“The Special Envoy for Afghan Reconciliation, Zalmay Khalilzad, will visit Afghanistan and Qatar from July 22 to August 1 as part of the overall effort to advance the peace process to end the conflict in Afghanistan,” the report says.
It is noted that in Kabul Khalilzad will hold consultations with the Afghan authorities on further steps in the peace process.
“In Doha, he will resume negotiations with the Taliban,” the State Department added.
