For Nabil Fekir (Lyon), "except theatrical event, it will be Betis Seville," said Monday to AFP Olivier Blanc, deputy general manager in charge of communication OL.
"It is not done yet, it has become an open secret to say that it will happen, but it is not done yet, there are still things to settle," says the official Lyon.
The world champion left Monday in Andalusia to spend his medical visit according to the French and Spanish press. The compensation "transfer would be slightly over EUR 20 million and could include a dozen million euros bonus and a percentage on resale of 20%", according to L'Equipe.
The deal also includes Fekir's younger brother Yassin, 22, a player from the Lyon reserve, whom Betis "will be looking to lend to a Spanish second division team" according to Marca.
Nabil Fekir, 26, who "today stands at 350,000 euros gross monthly to the OL until June 2020" received a proposal of "just under 600,000 euros gross per month until June 2024" to Betis according to The Team.
But on the sporting side, going to Betis is a setback for the playmaker: the Andalusian club finished 10th in La Liga and will not play any European Cup. Unlike Lyon and Naples, the club coveted the captain of OL according to the press.
Last summer, Nabil Fekir was close to signing Liverpool - the future winner of the Champions League - for nearly 70 million euros. But the transfer failed after the midfielder's medical visit to the Reds.
On September 4, 2015, during a match of the French team in Lisbon against Portugal, Fekir suffered a rupture of the cruciate ligament of the right knee, a serious injury of which he had been operated and which had distanced him of the lawn for several months.
Since then, Fekir has undergone two cleanings of his injured joint, in September 2016 and March 2018, before becoming world champion with the Blues in July 2018.
