Severe working conditions and protests of "yellow vests": in France, the suicide among police officers
2019-07-22T17:08:10.932Z
In France, the number of suicides among policemen and gendarmes has increased: in the first six months of 2019, 40 people committed suicide — more than in the entire past year. Members of trade unions and relatives of policemen attribute this to the fact that law enforcement officers have to work without days off because of the weekly actions of "yellow vests." Activists also believe that the French government uses the police to delay political decisions and not respond to the demands of the protesters.
