Russian florists Inna Deriglazova, Anastasiia Ivanova, Larissa Korobeynikova and Adeline Zagidullina became world champions on Monday in Budapest, beating Italy's Elisa di Francisca, Arianna Errigo and Alice Volpi in the final with 43 touches at 42.

The victory came in sudden death, after an extremely close match between the two best nations of this weapon for several years.

The bronze medal went to the United States (Lee Kieffer, Nzingha Prescod, Nicole Ross, Jacqueline Dubrovich), who narrowly beat the French (Ysaora Thibus, Pauline Ranvier, Anita Blaze, Solene Butruille) 45 touches to 43.
