The party of Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski, a political novice elected last April with the promise of eradicating corruption, has clearly won
the parliamentary elections this Sunday, July 21st.

Three months after the presidential election, the new Ukrainian head of state, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, won 43.9% of the vote, according to a poll taken out of the polls. There will not be an absolute majority for his party, so we will have to form a coalition.

President Zelenskiy seemed rather relaxed about that. He greeted the results with his "uninhibited" style, in sneakers, without a tie, from his campaign headquarters.

Zelenskiy's priorities

It's " proof of great trust, " he said. " But also a great responsibility. We will not let the Ukrainians down .

Volodymyr Zelenskiy promises a lot of bills from the investiture of the next Parliament. In particular, to end the war in the east of the country, release political prisoners and prisoners of war who are currently in Russia and also defeat the endemic corruption that paralyzes the country. He expects a lot from this next Parliament.

The results are still provisional since the count will continue until at least tomorrow, Monday. There is very strong competition, particularly in the majority constituencies. In general, this gives rise to frauds of all kinds that last through the night.

Which partner (s) to form a coalition?

What we already know is that the presidential party will have to find partners to form a coalition government, whether it is the former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko who is a veteran of politics or the singer of rock, Sviatoslav Vakarchuk, who is a novice.

The choice of the president, because it is he who decides, will determine the beginning of his five-year term. Final results are not expected for several days.
