Michel Soro, who on Saturday won the WBA's "regular" world title in the super-welterweight, was downgraded Sunday to the rank of world champion "Gold", his opponent Anderson Prestot, designated at the last minute, not being classified by the federation, announced Sunday the framing of the French boxer.

Soro (31, 34 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses) was originally to face the "regular" titleholder Brian Castano but the Argentine refused to sign the stock exchange bid before being dismissed by the WBA, leaving the place to the Russian Magomed Kurbanov. The latter having not received his visa for France until Friday, he had been replaced in extremis by the Frenchman Anderson Prestot.

"In the face of these exceptional circumstances, the WBA made the logical decision this morning not to award the regular title to Michel Soro, as his opponent Michel Soro, his compatriot Anderson Prestot, was not ranked in the ranking. of the WBA at the time of the fight ", explained the management of Soro in a statement.

Soro, who defeated Prestot by throw of the sponge in the fifth round on Saturday in Marseille, will face Cuban Erislandy Lara for the gain of the "regular" world title now vacant, according to his coaching.

This "regular" world title is a secondary title since the WBA also awards a title of "super champion", held by the American Julian Williams, also IBF champion. The WBC world super welterweight belt is owned by American Tony Harrison and the WBO is owned by Mexican Jaime Munguia.
