“The vessel’s operator, the British shipping company Norbulk, confirms that an armed personnel landed on the vessel Mesdar, registered as Liberian, at around 5:30 pm (7:30 pm Moscow Time) on Friday,” the company’s press release said.

Later in Norbulk Shipping they clarified that the connection with the tanker was restored, and the vessel continued on its way after the armed men left the board.

“All crew members are safe and in order,” representatives of the British company's press service confirmed.

Earlier, British Foreign Minister Jeremy Hunt announced participation in a meeting of the emergency government committee in connection with the detention by Iran of British and Liberian tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.
