The Abu Dhabi Retirement Fund (ADFD) has confirmed that the mechanism for extending the insured's term of service to the Fund under Law No. (23) of 2019 amending certain provisions of Law No. (2) for the year 2000 regarding civil retirement pensions and benefits of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi will not apply to pensioners before the law is issued. Stressing that no previous service periods may be included after the insured is referred for retirement, since the new amendments require that the insured be on his job at the time of submitting an application for the duration of his service.

The Fund has identified three procedures that the insured must follow to combine his / her term of service, including the desire to join the previous service period, apply for attachment prior to termination of service, and perform the full value of the fund before retirement.

Abu Dhabi Retirement Fund stated that Law No. (23) of 2019 amending certain provisions of Law No. (2) for the year 2000 concerning civil retirement pensions and benefits for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, allows all insured citizens to extend their previous services in the private sector outside the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The value of the annexation shall be calculated on the basis of the total pension contributions for the period to be included on the basis of the salary subject to deduction at the time of submission of the application for annexation, explaining that the system of combining the service in the private sector will be applied to insured citizens at employers outside the Emirate of Abu Dhabi according to three procedures. The Fund stated that the amendments included the performance of the value of the annexation on the basis of total pension contributions for the period to be deducted from the deductible salary upon submission of the application for incorporation, subject to the period of service in the private sector outside the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. According to the Fund, the new amendments allowed for the possibility of including former services for insureds who had acquired the nationality of the State prior to their receipt. Ways to combine service

The Abu Dhabi Retirement Fund explained how the new annexation system can be used, explaining that the insured can start to apply for the service, either in the private sector outside the emirate or prior to acquiring the nationality of the State, through their current employers through the Fund's portal. He explained that those wishing to join the previous service outside the Emirate of Abu Dhabi must submit a certificate issued by the pension fund to which they were registered, proving the period of previous service to the insured and a detailed salary certificate from the current employer. Those wishing to join the service before obtaining Nationality, provide a certificate confirming the previous period of service, issued by the previous employers, the current authority, in addition to a detailed salary certificate from the employer.

The new amendments grant the insured the right to include the entire or part of the previous service.
