US President Donald Trump has announced that US naval forces have shot down an Iranian aircraft in the Strait of Hormuz to approach an American destroyer.
Trump said Thursday that the US destroyer Boxer had shot down the Iranian aircraft after approaching it for 1,000 yards (about 900 meters), which posed a threat to the destroyer, he said.
Trump called on the world to protect its ships and to condemn Iran.
