The war in Yemen has taken a new turn after the UAE withdrew part of its forces - more than four years ago - into coalition operations alongside Saudi Arabia, raising questions about the future of the country under what has become known as the power struggle between Riyadh and Abu Dhabi.

Speaking to Al-Jazeera Net, a Yemeni government official said that there was an undeclared real crisis between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates over the administration of the war file, after the UAE greatly damaged the reputation of its ally from supporting and forming armed militias in the south.

On the UAE's recent decision to withdraw from some Yemeni regions, Abu Dhabi wanted to embarrass Saudi Arabia and the legitimate Yemeni government and show everyone as incapable of any military action without the UAE.

If Saudi Arabia decides to hand over those areas where the UAE forces have withdrawn, including the West Coast, Mina al-Mukha and the central province of Marib, it will inherit a dossier according to the spokesman.

The official justified that the presence of armed factions in the south adopt demands calling for separation from the north, which may increase the burden of the Saudi administration of the file of Yemen and needs to intensify efforts with the government to avoid the left by the UAE mines, he said.

On the other hand, the researcher in international relations, Dr. Adel Al-Masni, ruled out that there is a real intention of the UAE to withdraw completely from Yemen. If this is done, it is difficult for Saudi Arabia to fill the vacuum that the UAE may leave due to the multiplicity of agendas and tools that it has followed and has been forming in southern Yemen since the beginning of the military intervention and storm storm.

Speaking to Al Jazeera Net, al-Masni added that the UAE has prepared these armed militias in the south, so that it is also facing the role of Saudi Arabia and is inconsistent with its orientations and the way it deals with the Yemeni government.

He added that it is difficult to deal with the agenda of the United Arabism, which are divided between the loyalties of various regions, both in what is known as elite forces in the provinces of Shabwa and Hadramout or the security belt in Aden.

The Sunni believes that during the war, the UAE has involved Saudi Arabia, especially in the humanitarian file it is pursuing in international forums, as well as the escalation of terror in the southern border of the Kingdom through the great technologies owned by the Houthis, which are now targeting their vital sites.

More importantly, he said, the escalation in the Gulf crisis and the warming with Iran, which appeared to pressure the UAE to withdraw from Yemen and left Saudi Arabia in a great psychological crisis.

According to the Sunni, there is another thing about this withdrawal concerns the interests and agendas of the UAE, which spend a lot of money and set up to protect them, and therefore will not be easily abandoned and left to Saudi Arabia.

He says that Abu Dhabi is working as much as possible to defend its interests through its tools in the south, so that Saudi Arabia will face a major problem related to those contradictions and armies scattered in the southern arena of the UAE and aims to implement its ambitions expansion.
