A male in his 40s in Kyoto, Japan, set fire to an animation company. So far 30 people have been killed and dozens have been injured.

Animation company building in Kyoto City, Japan was covered with black smoke.

Witnesses said a 40-year-old man broke into the building and shouted "die", sprinkling and burning flammables.

This man was caught by the police while firing and escaping.

[Fire witness: I was saying something like 'Plagiarism'.]

Inside the building, there were many flammable materials such as film and flammable liquid, so it was quickly filled with flames and smoke.

More than 70 employees were working, but only half of them were able to escape and it took five hours to fully turn off the lights.

[Fire witness: I saw a few women in a small window like a bathroom window and smashed it out.]

So far, I have lost more than 30 lives in this arson.

Thirty people were injured, and 10 of them were reported to be in critical condition.

The company was founded in 1981 and was involved in creating famous animations, commissioned by large companies such as Ghibli Studios.

In Japan, a fire broke out in Tokyo in 2001, killing 44 people. In 2008, an arson attack in Osaka killed 16 people.

Japan has not been able to hide its impact in a major arson attack that took place in 11 years.
