He added that in Ukraine in the territories controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there are punitive detachments of nationalists who continue to “terrorize the population” to this day.
“They are subject to repression ... In that territory, even Zelensky’s visits did not affect the improvement of the situation. More and more people from the territory under control (Kiev territory. - RT ) are moving to the territory of Russia, because they believe that it is impossible to live there today, especially with the adoption and entry into force of the law on language. Therefore, these people have chosen that for them the best way is to obtain Russian citizenship, to live in Russia, to speak the same language, where there is one culture, some traditions, ”the deputy concluded.
Earlier, Putin expanded the number of Ukrainian citizens who can obtain Russian citizenship in a simplified manner.
Thus, Ukrainians who lived not only in “certain districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine”, but also residents of these regions as a whole, will be able to count on obtaining citizenship.
