The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Karelia has issued a Russian passport to Vladislav Torgon, a former captain of the third rank of the Ukrainian Navy. In Soviet times, he served in Germany and in the Northern Fleet, but after the collapse of the USSR, the sailor transferred to Ukraine to his relatives who remained there. In 2014, the officer joined the Odessa "anti-Maidan", which is why he came to the attention of the Ukrainian special services. Fearing arrest, Torgonsky went to Russia, where he unsuccessfully tried to legalize for more than four years. After the request of RT to the central office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, an inspection was carried out, during which it became clear that the officer could be recognized as a citizen of Russia on the basis of his military service in the territory of modern Russia.
