According to her, the UN welcomes the statements of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky that a thorough analysis of the law on the state language in the country will be carried out.

“We hope that this will create opportunities for further measures to ensure the rights of minorities,” she cites her words as TASS.

In turn, Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, called for an impartial assessment of the law on the state language in Ukraine.

“We all must give an impartial assessment of the newly-minted Ukrainian law,” he said at a UN Security Council meeting.

Earlier in Ukraine, the law came into force on the exclusive use of the Ukrainian language in all spheres of life.
