“We hope that the Georgian authorities will be able to stabilize the socio-political situation in the country and eliminate the existing threats to the security of Russians. If this happens, the necessary conditions will be created to consider the possibility of canceling the precautionary measures taken by Russia, including a ban on air transportation to Georgia, ”the minister said in an interview with the newspaper Argumenty i Fakty.

He stressed that Moscow wants to be friends and cooperate for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.

Lavrov noted that the Russian side expects from the Georgian authorities "an early realization of the inferiority and danger of further unwinding of the anti-Russian hysteria."

On July 8, a presidential decree came into force that temporarily banned flights from Georgia.

The Kremlin did not rule out the resumption of flights, noting that at the present time there is an objective danger of Russian tourists staying in Georgia.
