British star Sting, suffering from a viral throat infection, canceled his concert scheduled for Monday night in Bonn, but will be back on stage at Nuits de Fourviere Wednesday announced to AFP its promoter Live Nation France.

"Sting will resume its tour in Lyon," said Live Nation France, the day after the announcement on the official website of the singer of his renunciation to perform at the festival Kunst! Rasen Bonn, in the former capital of the FRG .

"Sting is in the process of healing, but he still suffers from a viral throat infection and doctors have recommended that he not sing Monday night," reports sting.com.

The return on stage in Lyon of the former leader of The Police, aged 67, should reassure his fans. In the end, Sting will have had to give up six nights, because of this disease contracted a week ago.

He had to cancel his concerts in Ghent, Munich, Stuttgart, Slavkov u Brna (Czech Republic), Weert (Netherlands) and Bonn. As many dates as he hopes "to reprogram as soon as possible", is it indicated on its website.

After the expected return to Fourvière, the Briton 100 million albums sold chained Friday by Calella de Palafrugell in Spain, before singing Sunday in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal.

Several other dates in France are planned this summer (Marciac, Carcassonne, Vitrolles, Colmar) and this autumn: Paris, Orleans, Lille, Bordeaux, Nantes, Lyon, Nice and Grenoble.

Between these two tours in Europe, he is also expected in Asia in early October.
