“The Council continues to pursue this issue and, in accordance with the conclusions of the European Council of June 20, invites the High Representative and the Commission to continue work on options for targeted measures in the light of ongoing drilling in the Eastern Mediterranean,” the Council of the EU said.

They noted that the Council will closely monitor developments, and, if necessary, “will return to this issue”.
