Thousands of Sudanese participated in marches to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the killing of dozens of demonstrators in front of the army headquarters in Khartoum last month. The demonstrations were held in response to a call by the forces of the Declaration of Freedom and Change, the umbrella organization for the protests, .

Witnesses said other marches took place in Haj Yousif, Omdurman, Port Sudan, Madinat al-Abyad (central) and Madani (east), Atbara .

The AU mediator to the Sudan, Mohamed El Hassan Ould Labbat, postponed the meeting, which was scheduled yesterday evening, between the military council and the forces of the Declaration of Freedom and Change, to today, at the request of the parties for further consultation, but the military council later denied the reported Delay.
