So far, all is well: France's men's and women's rugby sevens teams have negotiated perfectly on Saturday the first day of their Olympic Qualifying Tournament (TQO), and are both qualified for the quarter-finals on Sunday, after a faultless phase of hens.

The Blues have won all three of their matches in Kazan (Russia) against a weak opposition (54-0 against Moldova, 40-0 against Italy and 31-5 against Poland), to finish at the top of the group. A with 19 tries scored against a single cashed, and a difference of points of +120.

The task was a bit more difficult for the boys in Colomiers (Haute-Garonne). They went against Hungary (42-0) and Italy (34-10), before struggling a bit more against Portugal (10-5).

But the essential is done: the qualification for the quarterfinals is acquired with the first place of their hen. Jerome Daret's boys will face Sunday (11:00) in the quarter-final Georgia, second best third ... A privilege granted to the seeded N.1.

The girls of David Courteix will face them Sunday (09h00, French time) Romania for their quarter-finals.

In case of success against the Romanian, the program will be hard on the road of the title. The French women's team will indeed cross in the last square the route of England or Ireland, two of their main competitors, with Spain and Russia.

This first day of the women's TQO was precisely marked by two shocks: Russia beat England (26-5) to win Pool B, and Spain dominated Ireland (19-5) in Pool C .

In case of qualifying for the semi-finals, the French men's team will face either Germany or Ireland, which was surprised by Spain (17-17) and therefore saw the first place of Hen B.

The English, the main rivals of France with Ireland and Germany, have unfolded with three victories.

The teams from France must win their TQO to validate their ticket for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, or failing to finish on the podium to play the repechage tournament next year.
