They face great challenges during their daily lives, related to the difficulty or interruption of communication, Understanding with them, which usually ends by not achieving their goal, followed by a sense of distress and sadness.

Dr. Nadia Khalil Al Sayegh, Director General and Founder of the Center for Human Emotions for the Care and Housing of People with Special Needs, said that the suffering of people with hearing and speech disabilities is greater than that of other disabled people due to the absence of sign language interpreters and the inability of employees, With them, stressing the need to care and support, as a core component of society.

She stressed that learning sign language and dealing with all disabled persons should be an integral part of the training programs before practicing the service professions in the private and governmental sectors, and called for attention to the hearing and speech disabled, because their only obstacle is the lack of communication language. It also called for the inclusion of sign language in the curriculum. In her turn, the disability specialist and director of the Sidra center for the owners of the hamlet, Basima Al-Hujli, called for the provision of sign language specialists in all service centers, from shops and hospitals, because of the suffering faced by this group of those who are interested in serving their needs in society.

And stressed the need to oblige vital institutions to appoint sign language specialists, or train their staff to deal with them, especially emergency departments in hospitals and supermarkets. The transformation of sign language into societal behavior reflects a general awareness and affirms that we are moving into the future by caring for all members of society, regardless of the nature of their needs.

Dr. Manal Tarim, Chief Executive Officer of DHA's Primary Health Care Sector, said that the Authority has taken several measures to deal with hearing and speech impaired people who deal with sign language in hospitals and centers.
