French President Emmanuel Macron announced Saturday the creation of a command dedicated to space, an area essential to military operations and become a field of confrontation between powers, during a speech on the eve of the parade of 14-July. The Minister of the Armies Florence Parly should soon detail the outline of the French doctrine.
France, then, was content to observe movements in space. Thus, it has managed to follow the trajectory of a Russian satellite, for example, absorbing data in the vicinity of telecommunications satellites.
According to the experts, these unfriendly acts in space have become daily. In response, manufacturers are already proposing solutions to harden satellites, that is to say, make them less vulnerable to attacks or provide them with alert systems in the event of unfriendly reconciliations.
Emmanuel Macron now evokes for the first time once an " active " protection of satellites, but does not yet formally evoke the notion of response.
" The new military space doctrine will ensure our defense of space and space. We will better protect our satellites, including actively, "said Emmanuel Macron.
A joint space command was put in place at the headquarters almost 10 years ago. Emmanuel Marcon now wants a military command dedicated to space issues.
" To ensure the development and reinforcement of our space capabilities, a large space command will be created within the Air Force," said Emmanuel Macron.

So will France use weapons in space, or develop space action capabilities from the Earth? France has already been working for a long time on laser projects to blind a satellite, or microwave weapons intended for jamming.
In 2017, the review Strategic emphasized that " the security of the national space means " went through " an ability to act " in case of threats.
The President of the Republic has mentioned new investments, while the Military Programming Law 2019-2025 already plans to devote 3.6 billion euros to the space sector.
