The New York Times reports on Saturday (July 13th) that US financier Jeffrey Espstein, charged with sexual exploitation of minors, paid $ 350,000 to two people to prevent them from testifying.

In the United States, every passing day brings a lot of surprises in the case of the American financier Jeffrey Epstein, charged last Monday in New York for the sexual exploitation of a dozen minors. Yesterday, we learned the resignation of US Secretary of Labor Alex Acosta , implicated in his handling of the case when he was Florida's attorney in 2008.

This Saturday, the New York Times accuses the US financier, close to Bill Clinton and Donald Trump in particular, to have bought the silence of two people who could have testified against him. According to the newspaper, based on a Manhattan federal court document, $ 350,000 would have been paid between November and December 2018, just after the revelations of the Miami Herald . The Florida daily reported a secret agreement between Jeffrey Epstein and the local authorities to avoid federal prosecutions.

The evidence is accumulating against Jeffrey Epstein. Manhattan prosecutors in charge of the case claim his continued detention, while the accused asked to be released and remain under house arrest.

This is not the first time that the businessman is in the crosshairs of justice for such facts. If until now he has always managed to make arrangements, this time, if we believe the prosecutors of Manhattan, it seems impossible that he escapes a prison sentence. In the United States, the sexual exploitation of minors is a crime punishable by 45 years in prison.
