Zelensky commented on a telephone conversation with Putin

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that during the first telephone conversation with the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, he raised the issue of the return of Ukrainian sailors who were detained after the incident in the Kerch Strait. He told about this during a meeting with relatives of Ukrainian sailors in Krivoy Rog.


According to “Country.ua,” according to Zelensky, the release of sailors was a central topic of conversation with Putin.

“We are now thoroughly leading this issue to pick up ours. My crown will not fall from my head, because the life of the children is the most important thing. My main question to him (Putin. - RT) was: are they ready to give them. Give us all ours, ”said the President of Ukraine.

Putin had a telephone conversation with Zelensky. The conversation took place at the initiative of Kiev. The leaders discussed the settlement in the south-east of Ukraine and the joint work on the return of persons held on both sides.

A spokesman for the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, noted that the conversation between the two leaders "was rather pragmatic in nature." According to him, the conversation took "about 20 minutes."

Professor RUDN, a political analyst Yury Pochta, in an interview with FBA Economy Today, commenting on the telephone conversation between the presidents of Russia and Ukraine, said that the call seemed to be a positive thing and gives hope for the development of a dialogue at the leadership level.
