African mediation in Sudan said that there is a full agreement between the forces of freedom and change, the political declaration on all bodies of the transitional period, while the Council announced earlier yesterday, thwarted a coup attempt by a number of officers.

In detail, African mediator Mohamed Hassan Labat said there would be a second meeting on Saturday, to complete the discussions and sign the document of the political agreement. He added during a press conference that the dialogue the night before last, was in a brotherly, constructive and responsible atmosphere.

Labbat stressed that the final document of the agreement between the Sudanese military council and the forces of freedom and change has been postponed to the beginning of this week, noting that the official signature of the document is disrupted for purely technical reasons.

The most important points of the agreement are the formation of a technocrat government of national competencies, the sharing of power during the transitional period leading up to the elections, the establishment of a three-year sovereign council, the postponement of the Legislative Council pending the formation of the civilian government and the transparent investigation of bloody events.

For his part, called on the military council to join forces to make the agreement with the opposition successful, despite the comments of the parties on some points after the formulation of the law.

On the other hand, the Foreign Minister of Finland Becca Hafstu, who is currently visiting Khartoum, the European Union's support for Sudan to reach an agreement leading to stability and prevent violence, and lead to the formation of a government. He said he would submit a report on the subject to the EU foreign ministers in Belgium tomorrow. At a press conference held at the EU headquarters in Khartoum, Beka promised that they would talk to the United States about the economic situation in Sudan.

Earlier, the military junta announced on Sunday that a coup attempt had been foiled by a number of officers.

The head of the security and defense committee in the Transitional Military Council, Gamal El-Din Omar, told a press conference that "the organizers and participants in the failed coup attempt numbered 12 officers, 7 of whom were serving, five were pensioners and 4 were officers. They were detained. "

The Sudanese military junta confirmed that "the other participants, including the leader of the coup attempt, are being arrested."

"The security services have started investigating them, and they will be brought to an urgent trial," he said.

He also stressed that «the security forces are keen on the security of the homeland and the citizen, and achieve the desired political transition».

Omar pointed out that the coup attempt «came at a precise timing, to pre-empt the agreement between the Council and the forces of the Declaration of Freedom and Change». "We have seen the magnitude of the dangers and threats posed against the security and safety of the nation by this group that rejects the demands of the people, but the competition for governing the country will be through the ballot boxes, not military coups that disrupt the wheel of development and prosperity."

"The armed forces, the rapid support agencies, the police and the intelligence service have promised to work together to safeguard the interest of the homeland and the citizen, and we call upon the citizens to cooperate with the security services to confront the oppressors," concluded the head of the security and defense committee of the Transitional Military Council.

The military council called for the unity of the agreement to succeed with the opposition, despite the comments of the parties on some points after the formulation of the law.
