As indicated, the diplomat commented on the words of the Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, who offered to hold summit talks in Minsk with the participation of the United States.

“We fully support President Zelensky’s efforts to revive the implementation of Minsk,” said a State Department spokesman.

She noted that Ukraine fulfills its obligations under the Minsk Agreements “in the greatest possible way”.

“Russia needs to do the same thing,” she added.

At the same time, according to her, changing the existing negotiation formats “will not eliminate the real obstacle to the progress in implementation” of the Minsk agreements.

On July 8, Zelensky suggested that Russian leader Vladimir Putin hold talks in Minsk with the participation of world leaders, including US President Donald Trump.

Putin, commenting on Zelensky’s appeal, stressed that Russia had never refused any of the proposed formats, including the expansion of the Norman format.

The Russian Foreign Ministry indicated that when it comes to serious offers, they are first made via dip-channels, and not via Facebook.
