Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has undertaken development projects in the United Comoros Republic of US $ 10 million, Housing units, the construction and rehabilitation of five schools, the establishment of a maternity and childhood center, medical equipment and the establishment of a unit for the treatment of renal failure patients.
The Red Crescent Authority, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, President of the UAE Red Crescent Authority, is supporting efforts to support the humanitarian and development situation in the Comoros through the implementation of a number of development projects, Along with other projects in health, education, water, food and shelter materials.
A delegation from the Red Crescent Authority arrived in the Comorian capital Moroni to supervise the implementation of these projects and complete their own procedures in coordination with the competent authorities there.
The Secretary-General of the Red Crescent, Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al-Falahi, stressed that the UAE's move towards the Comoros was part of a number of humanitarian and developmental initiatives adopted by the State to alleviate human suffering and promote stability and development in brotherly and friendly countries. "These projects reflect the strong relations between the UAE and the Comoros, the continuous communication between the leaders of the two countries, the depth of the eternal ties between the two peoples, the solidarity of unlimited leadership with the humanitarian situation of the brothers, and the rapid response of the state to the development needs of the Comoros."
Al-Falahi pointed out that His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan is following with interest the projects of the Red Crescent around the world, especially those that have a direct impact on the sustainability of the tender and the renaissance of human societies. In another axis, Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al-Falahi said that the Authority is implementing a project to provide water, through the drilling of a number of wells, and the establishment of solar water pumping stations. On the relief side, he said: "The distribution of 6000 food baskets, benefiting 30 thousand people, in addition to the distribution of materials in kind and health parcels and clothes and household needs."
