Syria's armed opposition said it withdrew from the northern Hama countryside after heavy shelling of the area, while civilians were killed in fresh raids in Idlib, northern Syria.

One day after the control of the town of pigeons and a strategic hill close to it, announced operations room, "conquest Almubin" that the forces withdrew from them on Friday by heavy air and ground shelling on their positions there.

She added that Syrian forces had advanced at their expense, after the Russian air force launched more than 200 air raids on the region during the past two days.

Armed factions including the Sham Liberation Organization, the Army of Azzah and the National Liberation Front (FNL) launched late Wednesday an attack on the positions of the regime's forces and allies in the northern countryside of Hama. The fighting led to the factions' control of the village and its aftermath and several military positions.

The battles resulted in the deaths of about 100 fighters from both sides, and killed and wounded civilians in the towns and villages of northern Hama as a result of air raids.

On the other hand, Al-Jazeera correspondent reported the killing of ten civilians, including children, and dozens injured today following air raids by the regime on residential areas in Idlib province.

He added that the shelling targeted residential neighborhoods in the cities of Idlib, Jericho and Ma'arrah al-Nu'man, causing great damage and driving dozens of families to flee their homes for fear of new raids.

Some 600 civilians have been killed as part of a large-scale military campaign launched by the regime with Russian support in areas covered by an agreement to reduce escalation in the provinces of Idlib and Hama in particular.
