The government and opposition in Venezuela have agreed to establish a platform for ongoing dialogue, Norway said.

" A platform has been put in place that will work continuously and expeditiously, in order to reach a negotiated solution and within the scope of the possibilities offered by the Constitution, " the Norwegian Foreign Ministry said in a statement released on Friday. Caracas.

" It is expected that the parties will hold consultations to advance negotiations, " added the Norwegian Ministry, without giving a date on new meetings.

The Norwegian Government also urges both parties to take " maximum precautions in their comments and statements in relation to the process " of dialogue.

" I again express my gratitude to both parties for their efforts and spirit of cooperation and I thank the Government of Barbados for its hospitality, " Norway's Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide said in the statement.

Government and opposition delegations met in Barbados on Monday (July 8th) for a third round of talks since May, led under the auspices of Norway. The first two meetings held in Oslo in May yielded no tangible results.

Sources in both sides confirmed to AFP the end of talks in Barbados.
