In Bangui, a final report mentions four dead and twenty-six wounded in the PK5 neighborhood which experienced violence between Wednesday evening and Thursday. These are the first battles of such intensity in the capital since the signing of the peace agreement on February 6th. These fights would have originated a theft of fuel.

Everything would have started at the beginning of the week. A self-defense group allegedly taxed a trader. The latter, exasperated by this regular racket, refused to supply the petrol requested. On Wednesday night, the self-defense group attacked the merchant's family and killed one of its members.

Fights begin, another group of self-defense positions itself alongside the family of traders. During the day, the actors on the ground were worried about a possible escalation of violence as the fighting approached the Avenue de France.

The Minusca says it has deployed patrols Wednesday night and reinforcements Thursday morning. Minusca also announced that it is working " in close coordination with the Internal Security Forces, who have also deployed elements in the surrounding areas to avoid overflow and contagion ". The shooting stopped at the beginning of the afternoon. Last night, mediations were underway to try to calm the situation.

While #MINUSCA was patrolling PK5, the Internal Security Forces were securing neighboring neighborhoods to avoid contagion - The role of local community representatives was also important to help stop the violence.
