The Haas F1 team remains firmly linked to its title sponsor Rich Energy, assured the shareholders of the brand of energy drinks in a statement Thursday, nearly 24 hours after the announcement on Twitter of the breach of their contract .

"We (the majority shareholders) believe in Haas, in its performance, in its organization as a whole and we are fully subject to the commercial agreement currently in place," they write.

They attribute the tweet in question to the "unscrupulous acts of a person (who) may speak on his behalf, but whose opinions are not those of the company".

"We are legally taking away all executive responsibility," say the shareholders of the British brand linked to Haas since the beginning of the season.

"We will no longer comment on this commercially sensitive topic and will close this process behind closed doors," they continue.

"Today, Rich Energy has broken its contract with Haas F1 Team because of its poor results," reads Wednesday night on the Twitter account of Rich Energy.

"We want to beat Red Bull Racing and finish behind Williams in Austria (at the last GP at the end of June) is unacceptable," the tweet continues, "Politics and the politically correct F1 also inhibit our business."

"We fully believe in the product that Formula 1 and the platform it offers our brand," say on the contrary the shareholders of Rich Energy, Thursday.
