The UAE expressed its satisfaction with the agreement reached on July 5 in the Republic of Sudan, hoping that this agreement will be a new stage in which security and stability will prevail in order to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people.

The UAE's welcome came in the speech delivered by the First Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Khalifa Salem Al Mazrouei, yesterday at the 41st session of the Human Rights Council in the framework of the interactive dialogue with the independent expert on Sudan.

Al Mazrouei affirmed the UAE's adherence to the statement of the Arab Group, expressing appreciation for the efforts of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to contribute to the implementation of agreed technical assistance under the tenth item, In ways to open an office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Sudan, in coordination and cooperation with the authorities in the country.

She noted that the UAE is following with great concern and concern the extraordinary phase of the Sudan and expresses its satisfaction with the agreement reached on 5 July 2019. It hopes that it will constitute a new phase in which security and stability prevail in order to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people.

The statement also expressed the hope that this agreement will help in supporting the peaceful transition and avoid another war in the region, stressing the importance of continuing efforts to ensure peaceful dialogue between the two parties. This will ensure the continuity of state institutions and stability of their security through positive interaction with popular demands.

The State's statement to the Human Rights Council in Geneva noted that, in view of the positive developments currently under way, the Sudan deserved to step out of the special procedures clause and end the mandate of the independent expert through a specific roadmap agreed between the Government of the Sudan and the Human Rights Council to strengthen the transitional process.

The statement stressed the UAE's respect for the sovereignty of the Sudan and called for the need to maintain its stability and territorial integrity. On the other hand, the President of the Arab Parliament, Dr. Meshaal bin Fahm Al-Salami, who is currently visiting Sudan at the head of a high-level delegation from the Arab Parliament, asked the armed factions to exclude the language of arms and conflict and to turn to dialogue, negotiations and joining the political process.

Al-Salami said that the delegation of parliament met during the visit with a number of armed factions in the Sudan, and asked them to exclude the language of arms and conflict, and go to dialogue and negotiations and join the political process.
