The Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa today held preliminary meetings between the forces of freedom and change and the Revolutionary Front to discuss the formation of a transitional government in Sudan.

The meetings began with closed meetings between the two sides in preparation for entering into direct meetings between the delegation of the forces of freedom and change and the leaders of the Revolutionary Front under the auspices of the African Union and the Ethiopian government.

The joint meetings are expected to discuss the peace process and the formation of a transitional government, as well as to coordinate the process of democratic transformation in Sudan, according to sources attending the meetings of Al-Jazeera Net.

The sources, who preferred not to be disclosed, said that "the delegation of the forces of the Sudanese Declaration of Freedom and Change will present the agreement to be signed between him and the military council to the leaders of the armed factions to hear their opinion and final consultation."

The meetings are aimed at containing the differences between the two sides following the agreement reached between the military junta and the forces of freedom and change in early July under the auspices of the African Union and Ethiopia.

She explained that the meetings will also address marginalized issues, such as the issue of unifying the army in Sudan under the multiple Sudanese forces, as well as the forces of the armed movements.

The joint meetings are expected to come out with a supplementary agreement to the agreement concluded in Khartoum by the African Union and Ethiopia.

The Sudanese Revolutionary Front is an organization that includes a number of armed movements from several Sudanese territories and has recently included a number of representatives of political parties and civil society organizations of Sudan, an opposition organization.

The Revolutionary Front supported the revolutionary movement led by the forces of the Declaration of Freedom and Change, but the Front was not a direct part of the negotiating process with the military junta.
