“I appeal to you to express concern over the decision of your government to deny accreditation to the Russian media RT and Sputnik to highlight the global conference on media freedom this week in London based on their active role in spreading misinformation,” RIA Novosti reports statement of organization.

It is noted that the deprivation of accreditation is not an "adequate response."

Earlier, Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the refusal to accredit RT and Sputnik to a conference in London as a manifestation of absurdity.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that Moscow required London to provide specific facts a day before, on the basis of which RT and Sputnik were denied accreditation to a media freedom conference.
