Edouard Philippe criticized Tuesday in front of the Senate strikers correcting the baccalaureate, believing that these teachers have "installed disorder and anguish" and are "not up to their exceptional mission".

"Claims led a tiny minority (...) to say that they would disrupt the organization of the events, either by not showing up at the examination centers, or sometimes by obstructing access to the examination centers. ", lamented the Prime Minister during the session of Questions to the Government in the Senate.

"Then we said that we would not correct, then we said that we would not make the copies that were corrected." In short, we have, in doing so, installed disorder and anguish in a moment that deserves better than that, "he continued, after having been questioned on the subject by the chairman of the group Les Indépendants Claude Malhuret.

Describing conditions for passing the exam "in many ways unsatisfactory", Mr. Philippe has supported the Minister of Education Jean-Michel Blanquer.

"Faced with the demands of a tiny minority and the actions that are not up to the exceptional mission of all teachers, the Minister has rightly adopted a firm and determined position to ensure that this wrestling (...) can not be won by those who want to disrupt the organization of such an important moment, "greeted Mr. Philippe.

Faced with the unprecedented strike of some correctors opposed to the reform of the baccalaureate and who have retained copies, the Minister of Education has put in place a "technical solution": in case of missing notes, those of the continuous control have been taken into account. And if the bac rating was finally better, it was the one that was kept.

The Prime Minister has finally praised "the exceptional work of a huge majority" which "considers that being a teacher is effectively transmitting knowledge and giving an example".

On Sunday, President Emmanuel Macron also supported Blanquer in denouncing a "hostage-taking" of candidates and their families by the rebellious teachers.
