On June 27, the Kyrgyz parliament deprived Atambayev of immunity. The Prosecutor General’s Office found signs of corruption in Atambayev’s actions as head of state.

Atambayev was also called in for questioning by the Central Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country.

Atambayev led Kyrgyzstan from 2011 to 2017.
